Charleston Man Sentenced
{Charleston, West Virginia}...Ethan Chic-Colbert of Charleston was sentenced Wednesday in Kanawha County Circuit Court Wednesday, where Judge Duke Bloom sentenced him to six to 30 years in prison. Chic-Colbert pleaded guilty July 10th to charges of domestic battery, child neglect by a parent guardian or custodian resulting in the death of a child and gross child neglect creating the risk of serious bodily injury or death. Charges of kidnapping and murder were dismissed. Just after midnight on March 4th, Chic-Colbert began arguing with and beating on his girlfriend, Lynitrah Woodson, as she was driving down I-77. Woodson pulled over near the Leon Sullivan Way exit, and Chic-Colbert pulled her out of the car and began to hit her on the roadside. Woodson's son, 11 year old Jahlil Clements, jumped out of the car. attempting to get help, and was struck by an oncoming vehicle. Witnesses said that, once Chic-Colbert saw the boy had been struck, he turned to Woodson and gave her a final kick before fleeing the scene.
