Man Sentenced In Mingo County Killing

{West Virginia}...Darrell Davis, a Cattlettsburg, Kentucky man, has been sentenced to two life terms in prison for murder, kidnapping and arson. Davis was convicted in August after he shot and killed Gary Newsome in a cabin along Newsome Ridge near Kermit in Mingo County in July 2010. Davis entered the cabin where he shot his estranged wife, Laura Davis, and Newsome then dragged his wife from the cabin before setting it ablaze, with Newsome inside. Davis took his wife to a cousin's Kentucky home. She was taken to Fleming County Hospital, where she received blood transfusions and was airlifted to Lexington for additional medical treatment. She testified against Davis during the trial.
