{West Virginia}...Putnam Chief Deputy Greg Barnett says 37 year old John Calvin Oakes of Poca was riding his all-terrain vehicle on Heizer Creek Road just after 6:00 P.M. Monday when he lost control of the vehicle, went off the left side of the road and slammed into a tree. Barnett said the ATV flipped, throwing Oakes from the vehicle. Oakes, who was not wearing a helmet at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene.
