{Huntington, West Virginia}...Laurence Bess of Lesage was in Cabell County Magistrate Court Monday where he waived his preliminary hearing after being charged with one count of child abuse and two counts of child neglect, both resulting in injury. Bess was arrested in July. Prosecutors say he threw his 2-year old daughter on a bed, causing her to bounce off and fall on a heater. The child was taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital after she suffered major injuries to her head and face and a fractured ankle and a fractured eye socket.
