Senator Karen Facemyer Won't Seek Reelection

{West Virginia}...Seventeen of the Senate's 34 seats will be up for election next year. Three-term state Senator Karen Facemyer, R-Jackson, has announced she will not seek reelection next year because she wants to spend more time with her family and advance the plastics industry in the state. She is the president of the West Virginia Polymer Alliance Zone, an organization that markets West Virginia to plastics-related companies throughout the world. Facemyer has served in the Senate for nearly 12 years. Before that she was a member of the House of Delegates. Facemyer was first elected to the House of Delegates in 1992. She currently serves as minority whip of the Senate. Senator Facemyer has represented residents in Jackson, Mason, Putnam and Roane counties.
