Off-Duty WVSP Trooper Struck by Car after Shoplifting Incident

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. --- A woman is wanted after hitting an off-duty West Virginia State Police trooper with her car as she fled from a shoplifting incident Monday evening, according to information from the St. Albans Police Department.

It happened about 5 p.m. Monday at the St. Albans Mall near Goody’s Clothing store.

The off-duty trooper was trying to apprehend the woman.

The trooper is in the intensive care unit at CAMC General in Charleston.

The woman is described as in her 30s and was wearing a long sleeve pink shirt and boots. She has medium length wavy brown hair. She is driving a small dark colored, possibly flat black, compact car with rust along the bottom.
