{West Virginia}...The U.S. Mine Safety and Administration said Wednesday that it awarded $563,256 to West Virginia and $268,849 to Virginia to provide federally mandated health and safety training to miners. The funding is part of more than $8.4 million in grants awarded to 47 states and the Navajo Nation. Grants will be used to provide training to miners who work at surface and underground coal and metal and nonmetal mines.
