Woman Admits Lying To FBI
- {West Virginia}...Sherry Lou Smith, the wife of Charles Smith, the man who shot and killed 24 year old Deputy U.S. Marshal Derek Hotsinpiller on February 16, 2011 during a raid of Smith's house in Elkins, pleaded guilty in federal court Thursday. Smith admitted to making false statements to federal investigators concerning the whereabouts of her husband, fugitive, Charles Smith, when she spoke with him on March 22, 2010. Smith was also killed in return fire during the February raid. Sherry Lou Smith is free on bond pending sentencing.
