Accused Killer Held Without Bond

• {Beaver, West Virginia}...Monday, Mercer County Circuit Court Judge Omar Aboulhosn remanded Tracey Lee Atwell to the Southern Regional Jail in Beaver on first-degree murder and kidnapping charges in the death of his wife, 33 year old Christina Marie Atwell, and the abduction of his daughter, 8 year old Porsche Atwell. An Amber Alert was issued and an extensive manhunt began after West Virginia State Police say Atwell killed his wife in a home on Browning School Road then went to his parents’ home, tied up his parents and took his daughter from their home in Camp Creek and fled Thursday. Atwell was arrested Saturday. During Monday's hearing, Atwell's attorneys asked for their client to undergo a psychiatric evaluation and cited several reasons for the judge to grant bond: Atwell's 14 year residency in Mercer County, his family connections in Mercer County, the fact his daughter was not hurt and the pair never actually left the county. The state believed Atwell was a flight risk and cited his history of domestic violence.
