{Princeton, West Virginia}...Authorities are investigating the embezzlement of funds from the Mercer County Sheriff's tax office. Sheriff Don Meadows says the embezzlement began in 2004, and he became aware in October 2011 that there might be a problem. Results of an investigation by the sheriff's department have been given to the prosecutor's office. Prosecutor Scott Ash says he's waiting for a report from the auditor's office. He says the amount taken is less than $20,000.
