Deadly Arson Case Sent To Grand Jury

{Alum Creek, West Virginia}...Charles Roberts of Alum Creek was in court Friday charged with arson after allegedly starting a fire that led to the death of Davis Creek volunteer firefighter 61 year old Joey King. Davis Creek and Alum Creek firefighters had received a call about some railroad ties that caught fire in the area of Sand Plant Road in Alum Creek. Crews were attempting to locate the fire when King fell from the Steven Wayne Smith Memorial Bridge and down an embankment. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The case was sent to the Kanawha County grand jury.
