Man Charged With Possession

{Rand, West Virginia}...Around 4:45 A.M. Saturday morning, Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of a possible burglary on Bluefield Avenue in Rand. A witness told deputies a man tried to get into his aunt's house, but, when they confronted the man, he took off. The witness identified the suspect as 34 year old Joseph Lee Church of Columbus, Ohio. Deputies caught up with Church on Raven Drive, where he attempted to flee on foot. Deputies found over a half pound of marijuana, thousands of narcotic prescription pills, including Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, Codeine, Dilaudid, and Lorzazpam, and more than $1200 in cash on Church, along with personal property believed to have been stolen in the Rand area. Church is charged with possession with intent to distribute substances, fleeing and obstruction.
