Former Pocahontas County Sheriff's Deputy Indicted

  • {South Charleston, West Virginia}...A grand jury has returned an indictment against former Pocahontas County Sheriff's Deputy Bradley C. Totten of Hillsboro Tuesday after a lengthy investigation that involved the FBI. Totten has been indicted on 12 charges of sex crimes against two female victims who were 13 at the time of the alleged sexual abuse, two others were 15 and a fifth victim was a 27 year old woman. The indictment does not say where most of the alleged assaults occurred, but it says the adult victim, identified only by initials, was incarcerated at the time. The indictment claims the alleged crimes, including oral sex and intercourse, date to 1999, the most recent in April 2010. State Police Sgt. Michael Baylous says Totten was a deputy for more than 10 years.
