Annual WV Highway Cleanup Gearing-Up

{Charleston, West Virginia}...It's time to register for the annual Adopt-a-Highway Spring Statewide Cleanup. The Department of Environmental Protection is accepting registrations until April 14th. Cleanup day is April 28th. Co-sponsored by the Division of Highways, the event is aimed at improving the quality of the environment and encouraging public involvement in keeping West Virginia roadsides clean. Individuals, families, churches, businesses, school and groups can sign up to collect trash on almost any state-maintained road, back road or main route. Anyone 12 or older can take part. More than 5,000 volunteers cleaned up more than 800 miles of road last year.
