Doctor Facing WV Drug Charge Dies

{Wheeling, West Virginia}...U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld II says 46 year old Douglas Paul Broderick, a doctor facing a drug distribution charge in West Virginia, died March 20th of an apparent heart attack. In December, a federal grand jury in Wheeling charged Broderick, who ran clinics in Jacksonville, Florida and Rock Hill, South Carolina, with conspiracy to distribute controlled substances. He was accused of supplying large quantities of prescription drugs for no legitimate medical purpose. Prosecutors filed a motion Tuesday in federal court to dismiss the charge.
