Officials Discussing Year-Round School
{Huntington, West Virginia}...School officials in Cabell County are discussing an idea that would have students going to school year-round. Under the plan, students would attend school for 180 days, but would have nine week sessions with breaks and some time off during the summer. Some parents and students have concerns about how the school schedule would impact vacation plans and daycare for their children. School officials want to emphasize they are just in the very initial discussion phases. They are considering doing a financial study to see if the year-round school year would be a good fit. Some schools in Kanawha and Marshall counties already have year-round instruction.
