Update On Storm Progress

Thursday afternoon, the West Virginia National Guard had 600 soldiers on the ground doing welfare checks, installing generators, and delivering food and water. That's up from about 230 earlier this week.

The City of Huntington has extended the collection of spoiled food at the city garage to also include next Monday, July 9th and Tuesday July 10th. Drop off hours are from 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the city garage located under the Sixth Street Bridge on Veterans Memorial Boulevard.
The shareholders of West Virginia American Water have donated $7,500 to the American Red Cross for disaster relief in West Virginia. The American Red Cross plans to use the donation to assist with disaster relief services, which include providing water to those whose water service has been disrupted due to the power outages.
