University Of Charleston Athletic Director Dies
{West Virginia}...Tom Nozica, a longtime baseball coach and 13 year veteran Athletic Director at the University of Charleston, died Thursday morning at a Charleston Hospital. Hospital officials say he suffered from lung cancer but didn't realize he was in poor health until he began suffering shoulder pain 10-days ago. Nozica began coaching at U-C in 1969, and, at age 69, was the longest serving coach in all of NCAA Division II athletics. Earlier this year, Nozica had announced a plan to step down from his position as Athletic Director to concentrate full time on the baseball program.
