Charleston Firefighters Protest
{Charleston, West Virginia}...Charleston Fire Department Captain Leland Brown and dozens of other firefighters protested outside Charleston City Hall Monday because they say staffing issues have created serious safety gaps. causing their safety to take a backseat to budgeting. Firefighters say city leaders want to cut companies down to two-man companies, while shutting down ladder trucks and rescue trucks which has proven in the past to cause a serious safety issue for firefighters and citizens. Charleston Mayor Danny Jones says Charleston's Fire Department is a financial mess, and cuts are necessary, but citizens have nothing to be worried about because they are going to be taken care of.
