Charleston Man Sentenced
- {Charleston, West Virginia}...Emanuel Armond McCarty, 25, of Charleston, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jerome Grady who was shot twice as he drove his minivan on Madison Street on the West Side of Charleston on March 9th. In 2007, McCarty was shot in the head near a Seventh Avenue bar and critically injured along with Desmond Clark who is now serving a life sentence for shooting his girlfriend at a Patrick Street Taco Bell. McCarty's attorney, Dennis Bailey, told Kanawha Circuit Judge Paul Zakaib prior to sentencing that the defendant was left brain-damaged by the shooting.
