DEP Cites Atlanta-Based Black Crow Oil

  • {West Virginia}...State regulators have issued four violation notices against Atlanta-based Black Crow Oil for a spill at the company's well site on Cavender Drive near Elkview, West Virginia. The DEP says as many as 50 barrels of oil leaked from a faulty load-out line on the site's holding tank Thursday, and the spilled oil entered a tributary of Indian Creek, traveled into Indian Creek, and then flowed into Elk River. Violations were issued to Black Crow for polluting waters, failing to report the spill in a timely manner and for having an incorrect American Petroleum Institute identification number on its well.
