Judge Orders Psychiatric Evaluation

{Charleston, West Virginia}...Kanawha County Judge James Stucky ordered a psychiatric evaluation Monday after lawyers for 20 year old Mark Lucas Thompson of Alum Creek said their client did not appear competent to stand trial despite a recent psychiatric evaluation from a Weston hospital that found otherwise. Police say Thompson was high on bath salts last year when he kidnapped his neighbor's pet pygmy goat, brought the animal back to his bedroom next door and killed it. He was found wearing a bra and panties as he stood next to the goat. Thompson is charged with animal cruelty. Defense attorney John Carr said Thompson still lacks a basic understanding of what he is charged with or an appreciation for the legal process.
