Mining Company Complaint Dismissed

{Charleston, West Virginia}...The federal Mine Safety and Health Administration have dismissed a complaint against Resurrection Coal Co. for 245 safety violations at its No. 1 and No. 2 mines in McDowell County and its No. 4 mine in Wyoming County. The U.S. Attorney's Office filed a complaint in January after the company failed to pay more than $44,000 in delinquent fines and interest, some dating to 2006. In March, MSHA reached a settlement with Resurrection, and the company made its first payment the next day. The complaint was dismissed Friday after the third and final payment was processed.
