{Charleston,
West Virginia}...Kanawha County sniper 37 year old Shawn Lester will be sentenced
December 10th after pleading guilty Wednesday to federal firearms charges. Lester
admitted Wednesday he was in possession of guns in 2007 which was a crime
because he was already a convicted felon. Lester was sentenced to serve 40 years
in the 2003 shooting death of Jeanie Patton. He was sentenced to 20 years for
possessing a gun while addicted to pain-killers. U.S. District Judge John Copenhaver
rejected an original plea bargain in September because the sentences would be
running at the same time. Judge Copenhaver said it didn't carry enough
punishment. Lester faces up to 20 years in prison, a $500,000 fine and up to a
three year supervised release.
