State Superintendent Of Schools Fired

{Charleston, West Virginia}...State Superintendent of Schools Jorea Marple was fired from her job Thursday during a regularly scheduled state Board of Education meeting in Charleston. State Board of Education President Wade Linger says board members did not have confidence in her leadership. In protest, board members Jenny Phillips and Priscilla Haden, who supported Marple, resigned from the board. Haden will remain on the board through the end of the year. She says she wants to see the state education audit through to its end. Marple says her dismissal is one thing, but the resignation of Phillips and Haden is another.
