Boy Struck By Vehicle Identified

{Point Pleasant, West Virginia}…The Mason County Sheriff's Office has identified the boy who died at Pleasant Valley Hospital after being struck by a pickup truck on Sandhill Road in Point Pleasant around 1:30 P.M. Sunday as 10 year old Earnest Trey McCarty of Ashton. Monday, the 5th grade class at Ashton Elementary School wrote messages to Trey, attached them to balloons and released them in his honor. Police say Trey ran into the road in the path of the truck driven by Jason Richardson of Point Pleasant. Charges have not been filed.
