Ground Broken For Water Project

{Gilbert, West Virginia}…Ground has been broken for two projects that will extend public water service to 450 households in the Horsepen, Browning Fork and Gilbert Creek areas of Mingo County at a cost of $7.3 million. Gilbert Mayor Vivian Livingood says that other areas have expressed interest in joining the project, but there is not yet enough funding for that. The town received a number of loans and grants for the projects from the USDA, the Appalachian Regional Commission and the West Virginia Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council. McCoy Construction and Mike Enyart and Sons, along with Welding Inc., will perform the work and lay down the pipes. Workers have one year to complete construction.
