Former Superintendent Released From Parole

{Huntington, West Virginia}...Former Cabell County School Superintendent 69 year old Richard Jefferson was released from parole Wednesday by Cabell Circuit Judge Paul T. Farrell. Jefferson pleaded guilty in June 2006 after authorities said he tried via Internet to sexually solicit someone he thought was a 14 year old girl but actually turned out to be an undercover police officer working in New Martinsville, West Virgina. He received a 2 to 10 year prison sentence, but Judge Dan O'Hanlon reduced that punishment, allowing him to serve it on  five years home confinement. Last year, Judge Farrell released Jefferson from home confinement, ordering parole for the remainder of his sentence.
