Trial Postponed To Allow Man Psychiatric Treatment

  • {West Virginia}...The trial of 52 year old Clinton Douglas Skeens of Huntington has been postponed until January 3rd to allow time for Skeens to receive psychiatric treatment after being charged with killing former Wayne High School football coach, 73 year old Jess "Scott" Jarrell. Authorities say Jarrell was stabbed 43 times and died at his Wayne residence on December 31, 2010. Wayne County Circuit Judge Darrell Pratt ruled Monday that Skeens has a mental disorder, and one of two psychiatrists who testified at a closed-door hearing believes he could be competent to stand trial in 30 to 60 days with appropriate medication. Skeens will be taken to William R. Sharpe Jr. Hospital in Weston.
