WV Awaiting North Carolina Man's Extradition

• {West Virginia}...The West Virginia State Police in Winfield have a warrant for 10 counts of sexual abuse for crimes Richard Lane, 65, of High Point, North Carolina, allegedly committed between 1975 and 1983 in Putnam County. Lane was arrested August 12th in North Carolina for being a fugitive from justice and is in Guilford County Jail on a $300,000 bond. West Virginia State Police in Winfield are awaiting his extradition back to Putnam County. A West Virginia State Police trooper traveled to Lane’s home in High Point after receiving a report on July 27th after the victim identified Lane as the suspect and named other possible past and present victims. The victim was a minor at the time of the alleged abuse.
