Randolph County Mine Preparing To Open

  • {West Virginia}...Site development will begin soon for United Coal's new Roaring Creek Coal site near Elkins in Randolph County. The $150 million project in the Ellamore area could create more than 250 jobs and could be producing coal by January 2013. The operation will target high quality metallurgical coal that is used most often in steel production. United Coal is a subsidiary of MetInvest. The company operates sites in Ukraine and Europe along with other locations in the United States.
