Charleston Hosts Annual Christmas Parade

{Charleston, West Virginia}...Santa Clause was joined by about 80 other marching units as he waved to a large crowd Saturday morning while his sleigh glided down Capital Street during Charleston's annual Christmas Parade sponsored by the Charleston Town Center and BB&T Bank. Nine area bands provided the Christmas music. This year, the Mardi Gras Casino and Resort won first place in the commercial float competition. Bosley Rental and Supply won second place and The Dance Zone was named honorable mention. In the nonprofit category, the Elk Valley Shamrocks 4-H Club won first place and the WV Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation placed second. The Hearts of Appalachia Roller Derby team was honorable mention.
