Assistant Public Defender Case Goes To Grand Jury

• {West Virginia}...The case against Kanawha County assistant public defender 31 year old Steven Conifer is being sent to the grand jury after he waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday. Conifer is accused of pimping young children online for sex. Police say he was sending explicit images of a young child online and offering the child to another man for sex. Conifer, who had worked in the public defender's office for about six months,  has been suspended but continues to maintain his innocence, saying someone may have hacked into his computer. Conifer is currently free on a $50,000 bond.
