{West Virginia}...Charleston businessman, 65 year old Clark Diehl, the owner of Wallpapers In Stock Inc. which redecorated several offices at the state Capitol, has been sentenced to six months of community confinement, five years probation and been ordered to pay restitution to the state in the amount of $29,732.07 after being charged with tax evasion and mail fraud. Diehl received a lighter sentence Monday because he cooperated with federal authorities in a nearly four year government corruption investigation, but prosecutors say none of that information resulted in charges. Diehl was accused of violating competitive bidding requirements by creating four false bids from two competing companies, which represented an amount greater than invoices he had submitted and preparing a false tax return, stating that his taxable income was $32,651 instead of $96,000. He pleaded guilty to both charges in 2010.
