Operation Smokin’ Aces

{West Virginia}...Two people were sentenced Monday and a third pleaded guilty following an undercover investigation dubbed Operation Smokin’ Aces. Quentin Jamel Parker, 23, of Macon, Georgia, pleaded guilty to distribution of crack cocaine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Parker admitted that, between May 2010 and September 2010, he sold crack cocaine or firearms to undercover ATF agents on 18 occasions while at the Smokin’ Aces store in Huntington. He also admitted that, on June 15, 2010, he sold a stolen .22-caliber revolver to an undercover agent and, on August 18, 2010, he sold approximately 28 grams of crack. He faces up to 30 years in prison and a $1.25 million fine when sentenced November 14th. James Michael Daniel, 33, of Huntington, was sentenced to nearly four years in prison after admitting that, in July 2010, he sold 5.2 grams of crack cocaine and 10 Oxycodone pills to an undercover ATF agent. He also admitted that the day after the sale, he went back to the store and gave 20 more Oxycodone pills to an associate, who then sold them to an undercover ATF agent. The agent reported paying $44 for arranging the transaction and $880 for the pills, money which was given to Daniel. Judith Ann Hopkins, 23, of Huntington, was sentenced to nearly three years in prison after pleading guilty to several drug charges in April. Hopkins admitted to selling 89 Oxycodone pills and selling 21.5 grams of crack cocaine to undercover agents on four separate occasions in July 2010.
