{West Virginia}...Thursday, a Mingo County jury returned a guilty verdict in the trial of Darrell Davis, of Catlettsburg, finding him guilty of murder, arson, kidnapping and malicious assault. Prosecutors say, in July 2010, Davis entered a cabin along Newsome Ridge near Kermit and shot his estranged wife Laura Davis and Gary Newsome. Davis then dragged Laura out of the cabin and put her into his vehicle before setting the house on fire with Newsome inside. Newsome was found dead inside the burned out house. Investigators say Davis then took Laura to Flemingsburg, Kentucky, where his cousin took her to a hospital in Morehead. Laura was later flown to a hospital in Lexington.
