Drug Investigation Leads To Chase And Arrests

• {Marmet, West Virginia}...Just before 1:00 P.M. Friday, two men wanted in connection with a drug investigation fled when Metro Drug Unit officers tried to pull them over on I-77 South near Kanawha City. The suspects led police on a chase, reaching speeds of 110 miles per hour before slamming into a guardrail off the Marmet exit. After the crash, Billy Gene Reed and Donte Hamilton exited the vehicle and fled on foot, but they were soon tracked down by a K-9 unit.  It all started with a search warrant executed at a home on Jackson Street on Charleston's east end where Zack McClendon III was arrested after police found marijuana and Loratab pills in the home.
