Nursing Programs On Provisional Approval
{Charleston, West Virginia}...The West Virginia Board of Nursing has placed nursing programs at three colleges on provisional approval for the next year. Nursing Board Executive Director Laura Rhodes says the board recently took the action against programs at West Virginia Wesleyan in Buckhannon, WVU Tech in Montgomery and Bluefield State College in Bluefield after they failed the 80 pass rate when nursing students took the registered nurse licensing exam. Wesleyan fell below 80 percent from 2009-2011, WVU Tech in 2010-2011 and Bluefield State at its Bluefield campus for 2010-2011. All three schools have submitted plans of action to get the pass rate up. The Mountain State University Nursing Program lost its accreditation from the state Nursing Board in February.
