New Bank Planned For Charleston

{Charleston, West Virginia}…MVB Bank of Fairmont is in the process of purchasing some property to open a branch office at the corner of Washington and Margaret Streets across from a Town Center parking garage in downtown Charleston. The property currently contains a one-story walk-in and drive-through bank facility last occupied 18 months ago by BB&T Bank. MVB CEO Larry Mazza says, before anything can begin, MVB needs to get the nearly one acre lot rezoned. The company goes before the city Planning and Zoning Commission Wednesday to get the property rezoned. The Planning and Zoning Commission is expected to have a decision on rezoning the property by next Monday. Once that’s done, MVB can purchase the property and begin building the three story, 30,000 square feet structure. Mazza expects the construction to take about a year.
